SUMMARY:Open Water Endurance Swim
DESCRIPTION:GTC’s regular weekly Open Water Endurance Swim workout. A lifeguard and kayak are present at every swim. \n✔️ Swimmers must stick to the designated swim times (see below).\n🚫 No swimming outside of these times is permitted. \n⏳ Please pace your session so you can finish your final lap and exit the water before the swim time ends.\n❌ Lingering in the water after the session ends is not allowed. \nLet’s respect the space\, each other’s time\, and keep things running smoothly for all! \n🏊‍♀️ Designated Swim Times\n🕔 Tuesday: 7:00 – 7:45 AM\n🌅 Thursday: 6:00 – 7:30 PM\n☀️ Sunday: 7:00 – 8:30 AM \n🛑 Please plan to finish your final lap and exit the water before the session ends. \n  \nCold-Water Swim Safety Policy\nWith the cooler fall weather upon us\, safety becomes our top priority at the Quarry. \nTo ensure everyone’s well-being\, the GTC will follow Triathlon Ontario’s open-water safety guidelines: \n\nWetsuits become mandatory once water temperatures drop below 20 °C.\nWetsuits are optional in the 20–24°C range\, depending on the athlete’s comfort.\nWetsuits are not permitted above 24.6 °C due to the risk of overheating.\nIf temperatures fall too low (below ~16 °C)\, the swim will be cancelled for safety reasons.\n\nIn addition: \n\nWear bright swim caps for visibility.\nUsing swim buoys/floaties is strongly encouraged if you have them.\nNever swim alone — always stay with the group.\n\nBy treating our club swims as if they were sanctioned triathlon events\, we can keep everyone safe while maximizing our time in the open water this fall. \nNote:  \nTuesday and Sunday morning endurance swims are not instructed. These swims are a great opportunity for members of all abilities to practice swim techniques and swim at your own pace.
