CELLF Loved Athlete Tip of the Week
Spring Riding: Layer Smart, Finish Warm
This week’s tip: Layer with intention
Spring riding can be tricky… You may start out in the cold, warm up fast once moving … and cool down quickly when you stop.
- Base layer: Choose moisture-wicking fabrics (merino wool or technical blends)
- Skip cotton: It holds sweat and can leave you cold post-ride.
- Arm/leg warmers: Easy to remove and stash as you warm up.
- Vest or light jacket: Blocks wind on descents and cooler sections.
- Gloves & sunglasses: Small additions that make a big difference.
- Post-ride layer: Have something dry ready to throw on right away.
Think in layers; you can add, remove, and adjust as your body temperature changes.
A great ride should begin and end in comfort.
With you on this journey,
